Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What is postink?
postink! is an application that lets you post to your blog using your Tablet PC. It allows you to post in ink, text, or both.

  2. Who created postink?
postink! was created by Mack D. Male (me) as a hobby application. I figured it might be useful for other people as well!

  3. Is postink! unique?
Well I certainly think it is unique! There are a couple of other programs out there that do something similar, most notably WebCamNotes. Another application (that I have never seen actually) is BLink. postink! has a couple of features that are pretty neat however, such as the ability to compose a mixed post - one with ink and text.

  4. What do you mean by posting ink?
Unfortunately, ink is only a data type in Windows XP Tablet PC Edition. So to post "ink" to your blog, your strokes are saved as a gif image and inserted into your post. This requires you to have ftp access so that the images can be placed somewhere on the web.

  5. What does a post look like?
To get a taste of the end result, you can see my original mixed post.

  6. What blog engines does postink! support?
Currently, the application only works with .Text. I hope to have support for other engines in the near future.

  7. How much does postink! cost?
Its completely free! No ads or anything.

  8. For how long?
There will always be a free version of the program. That doesn't mean I won't sell another version in the future however.

  9. Where can I get help on using the app?
Right now, support is limited because the app is so new and unfinished. Maybe I'll add forums soon. In the meantime, email me at mack@dotnetwizards.org.
